Some type of fake PzKpfw VI E "Tiger" tank. Either a heavily modified Russian T-34 or a heavily modified British Cromwell. -- Last edit: 2006-09-01 00:02:18 |

Probably "Made for movie PzKpfw VI E" |

Here we most likely have a Soviet KhPZ (Kharkov Steam-Engine Factory) T-34 which was heavily modiefied to give an apperance of a German 'Tiger' tank. The 'Tiger' was made by Henschel and officially called Pz.Kw.VI Sd.Kfz.181 'Tiger'. |

Why don´t they use real tigers? Are there any left or were they all destroyed during the war or because of metal-prices afterwards? |

Only 6 Tigers survived the war, with only 1 (apparently) the only working one (Tiger 131). Of course, film makers chose to mock up other tanks for the job. I felt that the use of Soviet tanks to portray Tigers were... abused/over-used. |
