May be the 1st model year Ford used the term, but you could make a LX 5.0 combo in '87 and '88. -- Last edit: 2016-05-05 03:29:20 |

Don't know how '89 can be pinpointed from these pictures. |

never knew we could play with options to land LX and 5.0 in 87-88 ...... i gave 1989 as 1st year because my 1989 book says so in the ' new for 1989 ' section .... maybe the previous comment had a similar source to say they are 1989 too .... ![]() |

how was it, 5.0 badge on the fender too ? -- Last edit: 2016-05-08 01:22:16 |

Yes, fender badge, cool dual tailpipes, blasting up the hills of Daly City and San Bruno, Calif. Basically everything that's on the '89 LX 5.0, was on the "secret" '87 and '88 LX 5.0. Which was great since some people might have thought the the GT was gaudy/overstyled. |

then the secret was too good to keep and Ford revealed it all for 1989 and me, among others, took the 1989 as 1st year because it was told in so many books/websites that it was the 1st year.... ![]() |
