Probably - Sept-Nov 54 plate so likely to be a launch car (Oct 54).

I suppose it should be listed as a 1955 model, then? I wasn't sure what time a year the Mk.III was launched, Wikipedia only said 1954

I say keep it as 54 as that's most accurate for production date, also stops it getting lost in the thousands of 55 entries. But I'm a lone voice against the tide of Model Year Supremacists and their all-pervading beliefs.

Mk III launched in 1955, the recognition point for this car being the three rectangular portholes in the bonnet side just below and in front of the windscreen pillar.

Glass's is definite about Oct 54, not 55 for launch, and supported by various Graham Robson book dates. The Mk III dhc (as here) and Alpine roadster were dropped in Oct 55, leaving only the saloon to Dec 56.

If it was launched in October 1954, that would most likely make it a 1955 model.

There are many cases throughout this database of British cars launched at the Earl's Court Motor Show in year X, normally held in October, being referred to as commencing in year X + 1. From my motor industry experience, gained with both a supplier, GKN, and a manufacturer, Alvis, the cars would have been tooled up and the tracks made ready well before they went on sale.
