Daimler Straight Eight or something similar? |

Daimler's straight eight was not introduced until 1934, this car looks older. The futility of putting up rear views of coachbuilt cars for identification continues unabated. |

But John, it happens, from time to time, that we don't have any other choice: /vehicle_788388.html -- Last edit: 2015-04-10 11:09:38 |

Looks like an important event at Houses of Parliament - might be matchable against archive photos etc. Does film identify the event?? |

Regrettably, most of them will remain mysteries. |

In the context of the film (and the 1938 AEC Regal bus in the same scene) its probably newsreel footage of British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain reporting to Parliament about Adolf Hitler's demands in London, August 1939. Similar footage on the internet shows mostly Rolls-Royce limousines entering Parliament's New Palace Yard plus a few London Taxis with the police holding the crowds and reporters back. |
