explorer4x4 ◊ 2007-02-10 16:42	A classic, one of my favorites. And one of the few Top Gear tests I completely agreed with. However, I did find it odd that they thought it was really that big. We've got longer station wagons, and this Escalade was not even the extended wheel base model. And even the standard (short wheelbase) 2007 Escalade (third generation) is longer, same with the Navigator and Navigator L. I like how Hammond at least understood the Escalade (just like American muscle), which is a nice change from Clarkson who does not understand anything. Thinking a Volvo XC90 substitutes for an Escalade is like saying that a Daewoo substitutes for a Ferrari! Hecubus ◊ 2007-02-10 21:23	Explorer, an XC90 substitutes for an Escalade like a Porsche substitues for a Ferrari (or better yet, a Lamborghini). One is big and shouty, and lets everyone know you're loaded, but the other one is the better car. I can't speak for anyone else, but I'm secure enough with myself I don't need to show off to the entire world (and in doing so, show the entire world that I'm a moron with too much money).
