It was hilarious when little Richard Hammond cruised around in this monster.

He pulls beside this girl on the pavement and lowers the window, her reaction is funny, you'd normally expect to see a tough gangsta rapper driving this. Or Tony Soprano.

A classic, one of my favorites. And one of the few Top Gear tests I completely agreed with. However, I did find it odd that they thought it was really that big. :/ We've got longer station wagons, and this Escalade was not even the extended wheel base model. And even the standard (short wheelbase) 2007 Escalade (third generation) is longer, same with the Navigator and Navigator L. I like how Hammond at least understood the Escalade (just like American muscle), which is a nice change from Clarkson who does not understand anything. Thinking a Volvo XC90 substitutes for an Escalade is like saying that a Daewoo substitutes for a Ferrari!

He thinks it is big becuase in Europe we are not used to that big cars, our streets are narrower

I agree, it would be nice if Explorer4x4 could prevent himself from starting discussions about that all the time :o

Explorer, an XC90 substitutes for an Escalade like a Porsche substitues for a Ferrari (or better yet, a Lamborghini). One is big and shouty, and lets everyone know you're loaded, but the other one is the better car. I can't speak for anyone else, but I'm secure enough with myself I don't need to show off to the entire world (and in doing so, show the entire world that I'm a moron with too much money).

What are you talking about, they're bloody HUGE! It would completely dwarf your Tempo. It is a big car by anyone's standards, and too big for this country, they shouldn't let them in. Fortunately there's only a handful of Escalades here, mostly owned by overpaid idiot footballers.

Well, let us put it this way. The Pontiac Bonneville (wagon I think) is a foot longer. A estate car, from a performance brand. Then there are plenty bigger cars out there. I can name plenty, but shall not waste the time to due so.

I’m only joking… I happen to like Explorer4x4, although he does get on my nerves sometimes.

I know just about every member here "say’s" that they would love to see him go, but
if he did, then they wouldn’t have anyone to quarrel about Tempos’ and SUVs’ with.
Life here would get kind of boring. You guys would miss him, and like it or not, you ALL know that’s the truth!!! :D

Hmm, that's true. I do find him a bit entertaining. Especially when he said that hot babes are attracted to the Tempo. I don't think I've ever laughed so hard in my life! I'm still laughing now!
