I am thinking something based on Dodge Dart. |

this car is also visible near one of the Isuzu truck, and the side is clearer, but it still remains a mystery for me. |

The grill looks about like a Dodge Dart Link to "upload.wikimedia.org" but this has 4 headlights while the Dodge Dart only has 2, the side /vehicle_456164-Isuzu-TXD.html also looks Dart-ish http://www.brotherscott.org/images/69dart2sm.jpg though it seems a little more square. |

There is one thing that stands out to mean is that those quad headlights are sealed beam. ![]() |

It is very Dart/valiantesque. The body looks kind of like a mid sixties buick |

I really need to know what this car is... It looks very much like something American ![]() |

If it has 3 stars, than surely they're are better views? That would definitely help with the identification... |

I've watched clips of this film on Youtube countless times and it's only deepened the mystery. It's not a Dart, Valiant, Ford, Holden, or anything American, Japanese, or Australian. It appears to be the size of an original Ford Falcon or Holden EJ/EH, and the windscreen and front doors could be from either of those, but the rest of the bodywork has nothing in common. There's six-light glazing and the roof slope closely resembles that of the Humber Super Snipe. Curiously, the rear doors don't cut out over the wheel openings but are narrow and set completely forward of the wheel opening. There are vestigial tailfins not unlike the Hillman Super Minx. The windscreen wipers are set for left-hand drive and the number plate opening is small, suited to American or Japanese license plates, and there are sealed-beam headlights, though this feature was hardly exclusive to the Americans in the 1960s. -- Last edit: 2015-07-18 09:52:29 |

It's a 1963 Oldsmobile F-85 sedan:![]() ![]() You can see the car's profile and taillights when it crashes in the first few minutes of the movie. GM made RHD versions of its cars in Canada for export up until 1969 or so. -- Last edit: 2017-05-21 01:19:46 |
