I wonder if that is correct, they were still badged 1303 LS, like this one here: /vehicle.php?id=320117 Even if VW used the nickname, Maggiolone in Italy, on the cover of the brochure, like they did on several markets from 1971 and on. They still had the proper designations for the cars inside the printings, and often also badged on the cars. Compare with this french 1972 brouchure over Coccinelles: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/lit/1972_bug_french.php All cars are called Coccinelle, in the sense of a nickname for all Typ 1 models, but when it comes down to chosing which one to buy, the proper designations are used. |
