I believe I remember them being sold through Lincoln-Mercury Dealers not Ford Dealers in the USA from about 1970. According to Wikipedia however they were only sold as 'Capri' without any marque badging? In Europe the bulge in the hood would indicate a V6 engine but without checking I am not sure about it's use in the USA on straight fours as well. |

Maybe it's becoming too complicated as we have more and more makes. Why not just name it Mercury Capri or Ford Capri USA ? |

Because it wouldn't be correct. .gif ":)") We have just over 900 makes, so far. That's nothing compared to the well over 10.000 makes that existed. I guess with all the mopeds and race cars we will identify at least 1.500 makes. |

And actually we have much more "problematic" makes, like all the speed record vehicles and lots of other cars that do not carry a real make (and that create one make in our list for each vehicle...) In this case Capri seems to have been used as commercial make, so it has its place (especially since we have lots of them ) |
