Could this be an older model? Nice |

No, it's the oldest Maepsy possible. Introduced in 1982 as Saehan Maepsy, renamed in 1983 to Daewoo Maepsy and finally facelifted and renamed Daewoo Maepsy-Na in 1984 which was produced until 1989 (some sources say 1986). Unless you're thinking about the 1977-81 Saehan gemini, which the Maepsy was developed from. And I agree about it being nice -- Last edit: 2011-04-18 14:37:50 |

You are right about the Maepsy, it is strange to see old body style as a 1982 model year. |

Yeah, I know what you mean. These cars were already old-fashioned when introduced both in appearance and in mechanical terms. That's why its main rival, the Hyundai Pony, outsold it completely. These cars were however durable and robust, had reliable and powerful engines and performed good in rural areas. That's also why the Max, the pickup version, was more popular than the Pony Pickup in Korea. |
