Yay! Not too sure, I'm leaning toward the XLT or Eddie Bauer. I know it is a first generation (1990 to 1994) and the trim doesn't match a XLS and it is a four door, and the side molding looks like an Eddie Bauer trait, what do you guys think? First generation Ford Explorer, XLT or Eddie Bauer. Not a Sport, not a XLS and not a Limited as there was no Limited for the first generation. |

Doesn't the tan moulding and pinstripe make it an Eddie Bauer? Oh, and there was a first generation Limited (http://site.mawebcenters.com/wheelpig5/cars_i144233.html), this just isn't it. |

Yes, it has to be an Eddie Bauer. First generation Limited? Never heard or seen one? Wikipedia and Ford-Forums claim that the only models availible for the firs generation were the XL, XLT, Sport and Eddie Bauer. Then in the second generation, there was the XLS, XLS Sport, XLT, XLT Sport, Limited, (and for a 1995 exclusive and only availible as a 2-door) Expedition, Eddie Bauer (reused after 1996) and the XL, XLS, XLT, Eddie Bauer and Limited were used for bother third and fourth generations. And you can't really go by the car sales advertisments, they are not usually right when it comes to power and trim. |

As I said, there was a first generation Limited (you can see the Limited badge in this picture: http://imagehost.vendio.com/...). I know I also have a few old magazines somewhere with ads for the Limited. -- Last edit: 2006-06-23 16:30:36 (antp) |

The first generation Limited was only made in 1994. You can spot one by the differently styled grill. |
