1948/49 Studebaker?

Edit: because of the date of the movie rather a 1948...

OK.
We have a Commander Regal Deluxe here. Note longer front clip and the chrome extention around the front fender from the parking lamp area. (Fender top ornaments were optional on Commanders in '47 and '48. They were made standard for '49.)
All convertibles carried Regal Deluxe trim.

Now, is it a '47 or '48?
(We know it is not a '49 even without the movie year since the bumper does not wrap around.)
This we cannot tell from the angle shown. The grilles were slightly different between the 2 years as were the front and rear bumper guards but same cannot be seen.

Listing as '47 as first of two possible years.

As a 37 year member of the Studebaker Driver's Club and the nephew of a Studebaker dealer, I thank you.

Changing to 1948, Folks.

Now that I'm with my review notes, I see that front bumper wingguards were standard on '47 Commanders but optional on the '48's.
Since we know this is a Commander and it does not have the guards, it has to be a 1948.
