Buick Century |

It's not a Century but a Regal. The Century isn't part of the Buick range in China. See here : http://www.buick.com.cn -- Last edit: 2006-06-24 23:26:30 |

Edit : It's more recent than 1997. This version with clear turn signals was launched in 2003. http://www.globalautoindex.com/maker.plt?no=2683 |

This car was made in China, not United States! They didn't even build 1997 and newer Centurys and Regals in the United States, those for the North American market were built in Canada. |

I would consider the Century and Regal to be American. Why? Because they have been established as the traditional American car in a sense that it's got a floaty ride and seats 6 people and has all the unique desgins that is close to what a traditional American car would be. The Crown Victoria is built in Canada (and has been for at least 27 years), but most people would never think of it as a Canadian car. -- Last edit: 2006-08-18 08:09:39 |

This is a century, not a regal. I am what you may call an expert on the subject. First, the issues of the headlights, you simply open up the housing, and remove the amber lens. the headlights between the two are almost identical, the regal having an extra cornering light that comes on with the turn signal, but the housing itself is the same, less one lamp. I have done this on many cars, i even made silicone molds of these lenses and cast them in clear resin to retain a factory look while clearing the corner. something not beyond a movie studios capability. Most leave it with no lens/diffuser, i think this looks terrible. The wheels are 15'' wheels that come stock on century's, and never on regals. Chinese market regals aren't even available with 15's IIRC, atleast not those. The front fascia is a century, the license plate holder on the bumper is a dead giveaway. The grill is also a dead give away. And the rocker panels (or lack there of). the Chinese market regal looks nothing like this. go take a look at them and you will see. century, not regal. |

Filmed in China (well, in Hong-Kong) |

Shanghai, according to the IMDB. Hong Kong drives on the left, so you're not likely to find cars from mainland China there. http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0370032/locations |
