It's a 1990-1994 Mitsubishi Eclipse, but it was called also Eagle Talon and Plymouth Laser...

But on this car the central part of the taillights is openable with the hatch back... on the Eclipse lights and hatch are separated:

How can you see that?

The slot goes along the window and the back downwards between the lamp-sections.

But is it a real slot or the way the rear panel is welded?

I hesitate between the two. At first I thought about the 3000GT, but the second-gen. Probe was available in such a metallic purple. One thing is sure, if this is the car's original color, it has to be from North America.

I don't think this is a Probe or a 3000 GT. The taillights on both of those cars come to a very prominent point in the quarter panels and this car doesn't look like it does. I am actually leaning towards a DSM myself.

Looking up an online body parts catalog, the rear body panels and bumper reinforcement do match a 1st gen DSM.
