It is a 109" late Series IIa (1968-71) with a lengthend load bed and repositioned tank -- see the position of the filler cap and compare it to this one: /vehicle_35145-Land-Rover-109---Series-II-1958.html The rear mounted tank is standard for the Station Wagons. The opening in the side panel might have been for jerry cans or other equipment. This and the size/shape of the indicators and small lights define it as a military version. The lengthend load bed was probably made in South Africa. Interesting to see it!
marklandynut ◊ 2010-05-22 01:03	Take a close look at the radiator grille. Its been fitted with the optional chaff guard. This would normally stop chaff and grass from fields getting into the radiator, but I imagine it is being used here to keep the sand out.
