Vauxhall Omega 2.5 V6. (in one scene, they showed the "Omega 2.5 V6" badge on the trunk)

How do you know exactly? Could be the 3 litre.

This is also an Elite, the top trim level which was given a special eggcrate grille on the pre-facelift Omega.

@G-MANN: I´ve seen this challenge and they showed the 2.5 V6 badge on the trunk.

Only on one car, but they said, that both are the same cars.

They're both the model of car (Vauxhall Omega) but don't necessarily have the same engine :p The 1994-1999 Omega have 5 different engines (2.0, 2.5 V6, 3.0 V6, and 2.0 and 2.5 litre Turbodiesels)

You shouldn't just write "Vauxhall Omega 2.5 V6" is if it's fact without explaining how you know this. Sometimes I suspect a lot people have just posted guesses and admins, not realising this, have just entered it in.

But they did two races (one lap around their track, drag race) and I don´t think that they had two different engines.

Also why 1998?

Was their any spec changes to the cars then?

I didn´t say that it´s a 1998 Omega.

I'm not questioning you on that but the OP (Same goes for the 2010 Jag XKR originally listed as 2009).

I think they would have used the same car spec too for this kind of thing. It might be worth noting that the plate on the Astra comes from an Omega so it might be the plate from one of these cars (though reg in 2000 so only if it was a late reg unsold car)

Just found the video on Youtube. The blue one's numberplate is V695GCR and the green one's plate is R274FCS. The DVLA site unfortunately doesn't have their records but Auto Trader's numberplate checker says they both have V6 engines, meaning either of them could be 2.5 or 3 litre. The blue one (which will be a 1999) is a CD, badge is visible in one of the shots (potter should have posted thumbnails or said so himself)

Not on DVLA but webuyanycars.com lists V695GCR as a 2.5 CD registered in September 1999.

No record for the other plate.

In that race they are being driven by remote control, they go all over the place and don't go very fast, so that's hardly proof that had the same amount of power :p :p :p I didn't see any drag race.

But there was a drag race, where the blue-orange Omega crashed into a police van(?) and then exploded.

Registration plate: R274 FGS = 1998 Vauxhall Omega Elite 3.0 V6 Auto. Original colour was red.

Both Omegas look LHD in these pictures which is puzzling for Vauxhalls.

They're not, they're both driven by remote control while May and Hammond sit in the front passenger seat.

The main detail to set apart the 1994-1999 and the 1999-2000-version are the headrests. The pre-1999 ones are open. I think there are some tiny details at the bumpers, too.

There's one big detail, that gives it away as '98+ - the clear glass elipsiod headlamps. They bacame standard in late '97 for all Omegas, Xenon was optional.

Oh yes, now as you mention it, I remember that my 1999-Omega had these headlights, too. Embarassing - it had it 7 1/2 years and drove 212.000 km with it, but I never thought about the headlights  Just sometimes, when I saw an older Omega B I thought "Hmm, something is different except the headrests, but what??"
