Some people (including me) cannot easily make the different between a recent XJ and a X-Type :D

xj has a more flat front, you should search some images on google and compare them

come on, do not worry :) - I am just kidding - and I think, that antp checked the pics on Google - maybe you, or I see the difference on the first sight, but non-jag-lover.. ;)

Actually, it is Ford Mondeo in disguise.

The X-Type shares the same platform as the Mondeo and it is built by Ford, though the Mondeo is bigger. And the XJ is noticably larger in the flesh though from a distance and in photos both cars can look very similar. The X-Type is a bit of a poor excuse for a Jag, they've only brought it out to compete with the BMW 3-Series and the Merc C-Class, I hate when car brands cheapen themselves for the sake of trying to enter different market niches, just look at the Porsche Cayenne! The X-Type has not done well in customer satisfaction surveys either, in fact I'd probably rather have a Mondeo instead.

I agree with you on that. One who would have said twenty years ago that Jaguar had a Diesel and a Stationwagon in their line up would be called a lunatic...

I'd rather have none of both....for that amount of money I can think of more original less ordinary cars to buy..... :D

I was going to write exact the same thing - where are the good old Jags... :/
