All the AM look similar. and the rear window does not match the DB7. Isn't it a newer model?

Difficult to say but rear shut line of door, the rear edge of door glass, door mirror do not match DB9 (or DB7). Wipers are not right for DB9 and I think fuel filler position.

It is the prototype of the Maserati Coupé which will be presented in 2007.

It looks a lot alike, but the wheels are different and the rearside is disguished differently too. The wheels in the picture above do match exactly with the AM wheels in the link provided for the DB7....

V8 Vantage is a shortened DB9 so door outline is the same. Not V8 either I think.

I worked on DB9 and V8 Vantage at Gaydon and the disguise they used was minimal, nowhere near as much as in the picture. Astons can get away with less because the cars have a very similar shape to existing models and do not tend to get noticed.

Ford/Aston Martin chassis designations, DB9 [AML803] Aston Martin V8 [AML305]

If you search for other images you will find a few with these wheel rims. Actually they are identical on the image I posted, but either painted black or just dirty.

There is more than one prototype and they come with various disguises.

If you google for images use the German phrase 'Maserati Erlkönig'.

I almost forgot to mention: the fuel door is a dead give-away.

Whoever changed the name to 'Gran Turismo' without writing a comment should at least check the facts:

Maserati writes the name in one word: 'GranTurismo'
The 'GranTurismo' uses the longer chassis of the 'Quattroporte V'
Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us
Therefore this is a prototype most likely based on the shorter 'Coupé' chassis. They probably only used it for engine and some design feature tests. Or there is something else in the pipeline...
