1952/56 Presidential Parade Car. Three Chrysler Imperial Parade Phaetons were produced in 1952 by the Chrysler Corporation as ceremonial vehicles. They were styled by Virgil Exner and were in many ways a preview of the new "Forward Look" styling that would debut in 1955 on the newly separate Imperial marque and on other full-size Chryslers, but initially they had stock 1952 grilles and rear clips. In 1955 the cars were updated to 1956 Imperial appearance, in which form they continue to exist to the present day and which you can see here. I hence leave it open to discussion whether we either call it a 1952 Chrysler Imperial Presidential Parade Car or a 1956 Imperial Presidential Parade Car |
