In 1963, the Ranch Wagon name dropped to the smaller Fairlane series from the full size Galaxie series.
The Ranch Wagon name remained in the series through 1968, the next year the Torino name replaced Fairlane.

In 1969, the lowest cost/trim wagon would have been the Custom Ranch Wagon, but most fleet cars I saw were the slightly ($64) more expensive Custom 500 wagon. I have no idea what the differences were. So being a fire dept car, this could be a Ranch Wagon or a Custom 500.

CORRECTION: Ranch wagon stayed a model of the full size cars through 1977. The next year it seems ALL full-size Fords were called LTD...so the lower trim levels would have been called LTD wagons, leaving the Country Squire as the high trim level (and wood side) car.

It would be a Custom 500 wagon (base trim level).
Upper trim level would be Galaxie 500, then top of the line LTD Country Squire wagon (with wood sides).

Can someone update listing?
