 It's got Mercury badging therefore it's a Mercury, not a Ford.

Mercury badges on the front, but also Ford badges on the steering wheel and the back. They probably decided it wasn't worth moulding two sets of grilles and bumpers just because of the Mexican branding.

 This has Mercury engraved under the headlight, the one in your link has Grand Marquis instead. Also at one point I saw that it had lettering on the right side of the boot lid (presuambly MERCURY) rather than a Ford badge (GRAND MARQUIS went on the left side of the boot lid)

 Right, with the low resolution pics there I didn't notice the under-headlight badge was different. Better pic of that here:

It stands proud so I guess Ford just clipped/screwed on those badges to cover up the engraved Mercury ones. Cheap.
