Energy absorbing rear bumper = no earlier than 1974. Latest possible is 1976 (year of ep). Any way to narrow it down further? Wasn't there a variation in placement of the rear nameplate? |

Unfortunately, not. Even with the article from Collectible Automobile magazine could not help me find the small difference in between model years |

Reviewed my Burness album which jogged my memory. The nameplate change was at the front, not the back. The '74's had plain hood front edges while the '75's had the block F O R D letters across the edge. (Of course, the '76's had new grilles which were carried over to '77, the final year for the Maverick) |

I re-read the Collectible Automobile and did find something: "Ford" blocks on the boot indicates 1975/76 (year of the episode). |
