The movie stars Corey Haim and Corey Feldman. Definetly a movie for car buffs. An `86-`88 BMW E24 635csi is in the background in front of the house where the first party takes place. It just sits there parked. I seem to recall one scene at the end where the grandfather brings back his son's 635csi, which is demolished. So there are two separate E24 6-series' in this movie. Many verbal references to BMW in this film - as Corey Haim's dream car is a BMW. There are a few BMW items displayed in the film: BMW Sales brochure - scene at dinner table. BMW Poster of various historical models, and BMW Hat - Corey Feldman's Bedroom.

I think that it deserves 2-star as it has some role in the movie, though it is not used.

The other E24 is seen there:

No, you only see a tow truck bringing the wrecked car. So hopefuly they just took an already-wrecked car for the scene.

Ugh, that's painful to look at. I'm glad someone responded to my original detailed comment. Just for fun (or torture), there is a really cool video-clip of a 635csi being destroyed by Bruce Willis in Moonlighting.

I really hope so! And I think that it would be obvious...why to destroy a new car and not show that scene in the movie?

If the scene is failed. For lots of stunts they use more than one car, as they sometimes have to try it several times. For example the final crash of the BMW 5er in Ronin was done more than one time: first time the car ended on its wheels after the rollover rather than on its roof, which was not good if it is supposed to slide and fall from the bridge ;)

Yes Antoine is right ;) although Ronin's BMW roll was only done once ;)

No, in the making-off it is visible that they did it at least two times.

No in the making off they show you they did it once that it is, as youve said, when the car ends up on its wheels, that is the scene for the roll voer, then the sliding is a separate scene they did appart, and what they repeated was the fall from the bridge not the roll over itself :)

Yes, I checked and you are right: they say that they can reuse the scene by cutting the end, and preparing a new car to reshot the scene would take too much time. I mixed that with another similar scene of another movie, but I wonder which one then.

Just noticed, the car in top photo (wrecked) is a 633csi not a 635csi. It has the smaller 14" wheels. It's an `83-`84.

You can tell it's a 633CSi also because it does not have the front air dam (I remember the movie). That became standard when the 635CSi came to the US in 1985.

I think that the 633CSi pictured here is the same one that Bruce Willis destroyed in episode 4.02 of Moonlighting. If you go to the Moonlighting page for this car there are a bunch of great pictures of the sequence when he destroyed the car and you can see that there are alot of similarities in the damage, especially the passenger side door and rear passenger side fender. But what convinced me is that if you look closely above, you can see a unique, quarter-sized ding in the lower body between the door opening and the rear wheel well. You can clearly see the exact same unique ding on the Moonlighting page in image 402134 that night cub posted.

Agreed...this is absolutely the car from Moonlighting. The damage just matches up too well.

It's a crime what they did to it. They destroyed the Cadillac. Why did they have to destroy the BMW too?

season 4 of Moonlighting aired late 1987 which is nearly the same period this movie was made !!
