Too modern to be a GMC Cracker Box. And now that I've seen it on a better monitor, I can see that this is an FWD of some sort. Not a GMC at all(I actually thought this was a White for a moment). -- Last edit: 2008-05-03 02:56:24 |

Here's proof it's an FWD, not a GMC: http://www.hankstruckpictures.com/pix/trucks/bullnoze/fwd/fwd_cabover.jpg |

I love me some niche-trucks, and this might be one of the rarest trucks listed on IMCDB. This appears to be one of FWD's Interstate-Class 8 trucks that were first produced in the early 1970's. The COE variant was unique, however the Conventional was essentially just the American version of the Hayes Clipper. Despite being much more innovate compared to something like a GMC Astro, they didn't sell very well at all. Most of them were scrapped by the early-mid 1990's, and it's more than likely that none exist to this day. Although at least two conventional variants are known to still survive as of 2025. The model names are based on the engine setup and axle weight capacity. So a CO-64 model with a 11,000lb capacity front axle, 34,000lb rear capacity, and a Detroit 8v71 would be: FWD CO-64 [11348V71] We can't tell any specifications by these views alone, so we can just default it. -> 1971+ FWD CO-64 |

The only other instance of an FWD model with this newer style cab is the supposed prototype for a low cab variant of the CO-64. Apparently it's rotting in a junkyard in Grass Valley, Oregon, and there's next to no information on it other than it's still there. |
