October 1949 onwards registration?

So possibly befor October 1950 for six-light version?

Six light means a window behind the rear door shut. This ain't a six light.

Yes I'm aware of that, what I was trying to say is that its after the pressed steel wheels were introduced (reported as being sometime in 1950) but before it took the six light body in October 1950.

Sorry I did not intend to imply that you lacked knowledge. KXV, unfortunately, is one of those series used mainly for commercial vehicles and did not complete until Nov 1951 which makes life even more difficult. If it ran for 24 months that would be fewer than 50 per month, so KXV 136 could be about Jan 1950.

According to Glass's KXV was allocated in blocks, which usually means intermittent batches to public sector organisations, so late 49 into early 50 my best reading for plate date. My info is that steel wheels were introduced 1948 for S2, so this is probably our 1st recognised S2.

1949 for Series II as documented here...

"In 1949 the Oxford taxi was specified with heavy duty clutch more powerful brakes and easy-clean wheels. A year later in 1950 later two fixed quarterlights were fitted giving the appearance of a modern cab".

No problem, johnfromstaffs. Sometimes using too few words makes things unclear and too many words makes for confusion! :)

Its not always easy even for me to understand a comment that I wrote earlier, so expecting another person to grasp what I am attempting to say is often a going to be a chalange!
