I uploaded this white car because it looked like it could be a Shelby and not a standard Shadow. Comments? Or maybe it just has an aftermarket body kit installed. -- Last edit: 2009-10-18 02:17:06 |

This isn't a Shadow, it's a Dodge Lancer. |

oops. but at least I had something right. It appears to be an 88-89 Shelby Lancer http://amoparx.net/mnsdacpic/june07/june03b.JPG -- Last edit: 2009-10-18 03:16:37 |

Maybe, but it has the 15 inch "pizza wheels" which are different from the ones in that photo. It does look to have the extra ground effects though. I guess I could go with Shelby. But should "Shelby" go in extra info or the model name? |

I am fairly sure this is one as it has the body kit, rear spoiler and also that air-deflector above the rear window. I guess Shelby would be the trim name. I was hoping you would be able to answer that taxiguy -- Last edit: 2009-10-18 03:53:11 |

Kelly blue book lists it as a trim level so that's what I will list it as. Pretty rare car as less than 500 were made over the two years. -- Last edit: 2009-10-18 04:09:36 |

If you ever drove one you'd know why they only built 500 of them, underpowered and they handled like a bumpercar. |

I owned a 1986 Dodge Lancer Pacifica, which is what I believe is pictured here. It was one of 500, and if I recall correctly, sold only in California....? There was no reference to Shelby anywhere on the car, nor in the marketing. As i recall, it got it's 'Pacifica' name because the design originated at a California design studio that dodge spun off for performance research. It was equipped with a chip that allowed the engine to produce something like 5% more power than the standard 2.2 liter turbo--which I found to be pretty fun. It was very fast. For the time, the stereo was pretty awesome. Mine had black leather. The following year the car was marketed as a Shelby. The roof mounted spoiler was dropped later. I believe they built 700 or 750 per year, sold nationwide, the following couple years. -- Last edit: 2010-11-08 07:09:43 |

I agree with a1970tbird: Roof spoiler and pizzas make this one of the 500 1986 Lancer Pacificas. And don't know why Firebird86 would say underpowered, they most definitely were not! Lancer Shelby production was 279 for 1988 and 208 for 1989. I don't think the roof spoiler was ever dropped from the Lancer Shelby, but I could be wrong. In 1987 there was the Shelby (make) Lancer (model). There was 800 of these built, each with an individual CSM number (001-800). They did not have the roof spoiler. All 800 were painted graphic red in colour. /vehicles.php?make=Shelby&model=Lancer&modelMatch=1&modelInclModel=on -- Last edit: 2013-12-09 05:21:52 |

70 t-bird and gaoler are both correct. It is a 1986 Dodge Lancer Pacifica sold only in the California market for the 1986 model year, Extremly rare car to find nowaday's, There are 2 known to now be in Canada, 1 in the province of Alberta and 1 within the province of Ontario. |
