No, this would actually be a 1985 Olds Delta 88, which used a front very similar to the 1980 Olds 98, only with a rocket emblem up front instead of an Olds Crest. The following year, the Delta adopted the same body as the 98. |

I never understood why GM put the 98 badge on there shrunken front wheel drive body in 1985, and left the Delta 88 as the last big Oldsmobile sedan. It should of been the other way around. |

I always felt that way too, DT. (I guess they wanted their flagship model to be at the forefront of the next styling cycle.) |

Buick did the same thing at that time. They made their new smaller Electra Park Avenue starting model year 1985, but left its sister LeSabre as the last big Buick that year. |

Quite true. The Delta 88 and the LeSabre were corporate cousins as were the Ninety-Eight and the Electra. In those days, what one did, so did the equivalent other. |
