The foreground is a 352 "Pacemaker"
The cabover in the background of the 2nd photo is also a 352, but it is a pre-'70 "UniLite" cab.

1975 Peterbilt 352 atleast I heard it was a 1975 on Dan Bruno's Web site, anyway the Was never painted for the movie The Flat Bed Trailer was bought by Bruhn's in 1976 a year before the movie the truck was powered by an 350Hp 3406B Model Cat And it also had a 13 Speed Fuller Transmission The Truck returned to the Bruhn's Lot after the movie where the damage was fixed At the end of the movie in the scene where Pig Pen is hauling the Casket Trailer Old Rat driving a Different truck You can tell cause the middle color was more of a grayish This Truck was a 1971 Peterbilt 352 The 71 wasn't sppose to be in the movie but after the Alaverez Jail Hit Scene the 75 had suffered alot of Damage putting the truck out of commission for the movie The 71 was an almost look alike to the 75, So at the last scene they took the 76 flat bed trailer and hooked it up to the 71 For the very last scene The 1971 Peterbilt 352 was powered by a 3206 A model 283Hp Cat and the transmission was a 7 Speed Fuller Road Range Transmission the 1976 Flat bed was never hauled by either the 71 or 75 Peterbilt 352 at all for the Bruhn's Company the 71 hauled a dump trailer and the 75 hauled a tanker to fill up the other machine's on there Construction Sites the 1976 Flat was hauled by another truck, until a year later when Universal Lots Gave them Spider Mike's Truck, Spider Mike's truck hauled this Falt bed until ther sold the truck and the Falt Bed went to another company until the late 80's were the Flat Bed was Scrapped the Flat Bed was just hauled by the 2 Peterbilt 352's for the movie cause it was a fairly new trailer,in the early 80's around 1982 or 1983 the 1971 Peterbilt 352 was Scrapped At Peterson's Scrap Yard in Salem,Oregon I've heard that the 1975 Peterbilt 352 was in Delaware in barn that somebody is planning to restore some day, the Truck Featured on the Big Top Photo is the 1975 So please put the year 1075 up there

4x4 23,

With all due respect, please stop posting hogwash on imcdb. You're getting facts so completely mixed up that it is almost comical. It seems to be occurring on multiple posts for multiple vehicles. I trust the errors are in good faith, but what you presenting as fact is far from it.

To clarify all of this, the blue and gray Peterbilt in the photo is not a '75 unless they rebuilt the cab with the '70 headlamp skirt panels. Note that the headlamp buckets are not a separate "overlay" with visible rivets surrounding the outer edge of the bucket. This design change occurred early in the Pacemaker cab run, in mid-1970. Also the nameplate above the grille is the pre'73 small version. After '73 (model year, not build year) the nameplate was much larger with a deeper chrome surround. A '75 would also have 3 fresh air vents on the dash not the 2.

"The Rats Peterbilt was one of Bruhn`s Peterbilts that was repainted for the movie, and it was used in most of the highway shoots for the truck. The Rats Peterbilt did have a 2nd Unit truck that not belonged to Bruhn Trucking. The truck has the same paint as the Rats Peterbilt. The rats Unit truck had a longer wheelbase, single tall stack and some other differences. You can see the 2nd Unit truck pulling a van lining up into the convoy right at “New Mexico I-40” and again in the line-up of the funeral procession. The 2nd Unit truck WAS used for in cab shoots of the Rats and Widow Women. The truck was used in the funeral scene as well as the scene in the credits, where all the trucks leave the funeral and get on the highway. It can also be seen earlier where a few trucks join in(Big Nasty`s character) and when the trucks are stopped after one hits the ice cream truck. It had a taller stack, roof mount air conditioner and a polished sunvisor. The guy who owned the 2nd Unit truck, rolled the truck just before filming started, so there is maybe possible to see duct tape holding the window in. The 2nd Unit truck was powered with a 1693 Caterpillar and billowed out black smoke."

Got this from Convoy Expert Dan Bruno:-)
