The mirror could give a more specific year model. |

It's a civilian model, that's for sure. Somewhere between 1998-2002 |

I'm not sure when the mirror was first equipped on Crown Victorias. Do you know? Also, taxiguy is right. And seeing as how it does not say LX on the rear name badge, it would have to be a base model [P73]. |

I was hoping you might know ... I do know the Expedition got it for the 2000 model year. But the Crown Vic could have gotten it earlier. I’ll try and find out later ... This is one of the nicest Crown Victorias I’ve seen so far on the site. -- Last edit: 2009-07-23 07:40:56 |

Yes it's nice to see civilian models being added to the site. Even though they aren't uncommon in real life, they sadly are not represented well on the site, the ones here are mostly police and taxi cabs it seems |

@Neptune: 2000 being the first year might be a possibility, after all, it's within the possible year range. But any information you find would definitely help. |

The Crown Victoria got the Gentex mirror for the 1998 model year, two model years before the Expedition. 1998 Ford Crown Victoria Owners Guide (taken from pages 42 and 43) 2000 Ford Expedition Owners Guide (taken from page 76) Before the Gentex mirrors were offered by Ford, the Crown Vic, Expedition, and other Ford vehicles used Auto-dimming mirrors of Ford’s own design. |
