IDENTIFICATION AND DATING: cca 1910 Napier Tourer Another interesting cinema screen grab of a vehicle which appeared in a 1925 film "The Lost World" being investigated on IMCDB. This was a silent film and was adaptation of Arthur Conan Doyle's book of the same name featuring a brontosaurus marauding down London's River Thames. -- The car featured in this scene is a cca 1910 Napier Tourer. the famous Napier claim to fame was initially manufacturing gun and bullet making machinery, as well as printers for stamps and banknotes. |

I had to repost my message in order to get it seen, now I've posted proof but STILL no answer! This time the waving smiley won't do: -- Last edit: 2013-11-19 14:45:39 |

Link to "www.google.co.uk" I may be 65 years old and wear glasses to see through, but this is the SVVS Napier, and it is not the car in the picture in question, which is neither Napier nor tourer. |

I am younger (but with glasses too) and indeed it is another car ![]() The Napier is listed as Napier : /vehicle_231427-Napier-30hp-Type-T44-1913.html However, if we scroll a little further on the page we found this one listed as 1921 Franklin. A proof that giving a link is always useful -- Last edit: 2013-11-19 17:26:32 |

Link to "www.google.co.uk" Built by the American offshoot of FIAT at Poughkeepsie, NY, this is one of the last right hand drive cars built in USA, and my personal view is that this car ain't a Franklin, but may be a FIAT. -- Last edit: 2013-11-19 18:29:36 |
