I support Firebird86's idea. Fairlane 500's, I've just learned, only wore a series of 5 trim pieces on the rear fender sides. A Galaxie Town Victoria (4-door hardtop) would look like this: http://www.flickr.com/photos/unclegal/3286495645/in/pool-1960fords Galaxie Town Sedan here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/hannes_steyn/2758692643/in/pool-1960fords Call it a Ford Galaxie (there were no Galaxie 500s in 1960). -- Last edit: 2009-03-03 01:31:45 |

I agree, looks like Galaxie script on the trunk. Fairlane had single printed letters across the trunk. |

Hi guys, I'm a late arrival to IMCDB, but an old hand with movie cars. I was the owner of many of the cars seen on THE WONDER YEARS. Yes, the black 60 ford was my Galaxie Town Victoria. I bought it in L.A. in 1978 for $30. HONEST. Restored, it was my "family car" until 2002. It also served as a police car in the series THE OUTSIDERS (look closely, when the police storm in you can tell one cop car is a HARDTOP!)and many other shows IE: THE DOORS, CELEBRITY and THE ONION FIELD. P.S. I also owned the 66 Mercury convertible ahead of the Galaxie in the frame, One of the camera men owned the VW. -- Last edit: 2017-05-12 03:18:36 |
