Good match for 84+ Rover Mini Sprite when Minis were officially reintroduced to J, with Rover branding 6 years before it was used elsewhere. Basically a poverty Mini City, hence the black trim, 10" wheels and no side indicators so 84-85 here, bright red colour was very common. So a blobby cartoon, but drawn with something specific in mind. |

^ 80s Japanese Minis are a weird pond to go fishing in. All sorts of things happened which never happened anywhere else - my Mini bible has a fair bit of info, but I get the feeling it's not the full story. But it does have a photo of a red one which is pretty much an exact match. UK Mini Sprites were different - an 83 special edition in orangey-red or white with side tapes and pretty Exacton 10" alloys, and then 92+ the final Mini Citys became Mini Sprites |
