Love this show...superb murder mystery drama, and also for show-casing awesome old cars! This is one of my favorite Thunderbirds that Paul Drake (William Hopper) drove in the show. He usually drove Thunderbirds if Ford was sponsoring the episode...or Corvettes if GM was sponsoring it. Mason alternated between Ford Fairlane 500 Skyliners or Lincolns--if Ford was sponsoring the episode...or Cadillacs if GM was sponsoring it.

I wonder if this 57 Thunderbird (my favorite T-Bird) was red or black? It's hard to tell in black-n-white. If it was red, then it would have been almost like "Dan Tanna's" (Robert Urich) in the 70's crime-drama "Vega$."

I love PM too and have since I was a kid.
And I always watch for the cars, of course!

(As I posted elsewhere, the 1957 Lincoln Premiere featured in season 1, ep 5 is my favorite PM vehicle of them all!)

I also grew up with Mason as a kid...but it was first with the 1985-1993 Reunion Movies. My parents grew up with the original series, so when we started watching the movies I then wanted to see the original show--to see what they were like then. TBS, for years, aired reruns and in the late 80's I started watching the original series...and it's one of my all-time favorites!! I collect certain TV shows (mostly crime, mystery, cop dramas) and "PM" is one of the best!! :king: It was the first show to accurately show the chalk outline of the body...whereas other crime shows did not. But, one of my favorite things to do when first starting an episode is to see what awesome car Mason would drive this time...as it seemed to alternate each time. :)

I saw the Lincoln you mentioned...and there also was a pic of a 57 Convertible too. Do you like the hardtop better? I was surprised to not find more pics of the different Lincolns Mason drove over the course of the show. There were several 61-66's if I remember correctly. There was only one color episode towards the end of the show, which was a "pilot" idea to maybe bring the show back the next season--10th season--in color if it came back, however, sadly that did not happen. But, there was a blue 66 Lincoln that was pretty cool!

I'm in a distinct minority among car lovers. I have always preferred 4-door sedans - even when I was a kid.
Love that solid, symmetrical look.

That's cool...personally I like 2-door Convertibles better, but to each his or her own! :) My Camaro isn't a convertible but it has T-Tops...which on it I like better than the convertible look.

But, on older cars (especially 50's or 60's) the convertible just looked awesome, stylish, and sporty. But, there are also sedans and/or 4-door models of cars that look awesome too! :D
