I'm thinking more along the lines of Galaxie 500 |

Actualy, now that I look closer I know it's a Galaxy 500 becuase of the grille and absence of a hood ornament. |

Gents, I am 100% sure it's an LTD. The Galaxie had a full-width grill. |

And this one doesn't? ![]() please compare: http://www.fvn.no/amcar/brochures/ford/74fo/bilder/2.jpg On the left, an LTD with a hood oranament, and a grille with six horizontal bars On the right, a Galaxie 500 with no hood ornament and a grille with three horizontal bars Now tell me, does the car in this picture have a hood ornament or no hood ornament? Does it have a grille with three or six bars? It's a Galaxie 500 |

In the link I submitted below is 1973 Ford Galaxie on the left and a 1973 Ford LTD on the right. You decide. http://www.oldcarbrochures.com/main.php?g2_itemId=45439 |

Judging by the brochure page alone, the film car has the emblem in on the right half of the center grille element. The film car also has the wider FORD letter spacing than what I think I see in the brochure picture of the LTD. The number of distinct horizontal bars matches that of the Galaxie. The parking lamp/directional lamp assemblies do appear to have the ribbed trim of the LTD, and the Grille of the Galaxie 500, according to the brochure page, should not have any vertical bars encapsulating the center grille element. This is then a 13-year-old car and may have been repaired using parts that were incorrect to the original configuration. For example, my mother once struck a deer. She was driving a Dodge Caravan which now sports a Plymouth (Voyager) grille. -- Last edit: 2008-11-16 11:34:34 |
