This scene was the reenactment of the main raid on the Japanese Prison Of War Camp at Cabanatuan City in the Nueva Ecija Province of Japanese Occupied Philippines that occurred on the evening of the 30th January 1945. The raid resulted in the rescue of 552 Allied POWs and the deaths of over 530 Japanese soldiers, two US soldiers, and two POWS with the wounding of four US Soldiers and nine Filipino Guerillas. Out of the 552 POWs who were rescued, there were: 492 Americans - 464 soldiers and 28 civilians. Among them was Clare Philips (known as "High Pockets") who used her gentleman's club as a front to gain intelligence from the Japanese soldiers to send to the rescue party, and to smuggle supplies to the POWs, captured by the Kempeitai (the Japanese Military Police) in 1944, after one of her runners was caught and tortured for the information. 23 British - 22 soldiers and 1 civilian. Three Dutch - All soldiers. Two Norwegians - Both civilians. One Canadian - Civilian. 1 Filipino - Civilian. -- Last edit: 2023-09-22 05:48:08 |

I don't think "Type 125" is correct for this. There is no Chevrolet Type 125 that I can find. There was a Class 125, airport crash truck, but this doesn't have the special body that did. Looks like just a normal 1942 Chevy truck. |
