While it does have alloys, rear bumper and cladding from the facelifted version, it also lacks the reinforced rocker panels - which also makes sense given that the 280 S was a pre-facelift model. These W126s were often given facelifts by their owners to appear more modern. The ribbed claddings quickly looked dated.
