Side marker introduced on all USA vehicles in 1968 as described at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Automobile_lighting#Sidemarker_lights and I don't think this applied on a 1965 model year...

No, he meant the turn indicators that Renault put on the Ramblers sold in France.
