those 2 grey cars are early US 318i sedans (those are the only bmws I know of in the US that had those wheel covers) |

But could other models have had those wheel covers in Europe? Actually, you might be right that they're US models, because I can't see any side indicator repeaters. But what would they be doing in Hungary? |

This scene was made in Hungary. Indicator repeator are not mandatory everywhere, here in Belgium for example lots of cars do not have them. If it was a US-spec BMW, wouldn't be there some "running lights" on the side? -- Last edit: 2006-07-07 14:57:41 |

exterior wise, US and euro e36 models were the same as far as I know (give or take a couple options packages). My 318i dosen't have amber reflectors on the side(it does have the side fender flasher though). I assumed that the film was made in Canada, so i might be wrong about 318i. if its not a 318 then its a 316. As far as I know bmw only used that style wheel cover on the 4bangers with basic option packages. I do know this though...they are very early production model e36es since they have no amber side flasher. |

This grey 1991-95 E36 and the 1993-96 E36 Cabrio behind it fall from the truck and explode. ![]() By the way, in some European countries there isn't any side indicator repeaters (In Italy they are mandatory, but not in a lot of other countries, like Germany, Belgium and some Eastern). So this isn't an US-specs. model (in the movie you can see no "running lights"). Those wheelcovers were standard on E36 316i or 318i. |
