Coachwork by FT Autotrasformazioni S.r.l. of Ferentino, Italy.![]() |

Is FT Autotrasformazioni related to Eredi Cantinelli, or it's just a coincidence that both are located in Ferentino (circa 50 km from where I live), @AnimatronixX? ![]() |

Well, @Bux_48, I definitely don't know what's up there, but I guess they are related in one or another way - the same goes for Roberto Cantinelli, also from Ferentino. Educated guess, based on "what usually happens" in the coachbuilding branch in any country you desire: Person works for a coachbuilder, then something occurs, person opens their own coachbuilding shop around the corner and the race is on. Or a coachbuilding company files for bankruptcy or gets relocated, but the staff reorganizes and forms a new company (That's how Armbruster/Stageway staff ended up building hearses and limousines as Federal Coach). Or the son of a coachbuilder says "No, we're not going to do it THAT way" and starts a solo career. Or three people work together as a trio until one of them has enough and leaves the other two in order to become their competitor. The list goes on. Financial losses of any kind, different ideas of "how to" and further disputes are often the nucleus of yet another company and the world of coachbuilders is full of stories like that. I never assume a new company in the same niche accidentally emerges next to an existing one. And then there's often an official story - and a very different one behind the scenes. ![]() ![]() I reckon something like this or maybe something more peaceful may be the story here, with Roberto Cantinelly probably being the oldest of the Ferentino-based hearse coachbuilders. Written from memory - there might (have) be(en) even more. |

Thank you for the kind answer, @AnimatronixX ![]() I asked because I found interesting that a rather small town had more than one coachbuilder, so I figured they could have changed name, or one of your hypotesis. Then, Eredi means heirs, so it supports this possibility ![]() |
