Bedford S type, looks like a converted Green Goddess or an ex Civil Defence vehicle. 1953 London plate. |

Bedford S type, the C-type was 1957 with a bright grille surround. There is a preserved S-type with similar ('allocated in blocks') registration 'NYV 632' Ex- National Fire Service' (also NYV 639) but 'NYV 640' is on a 1976 Mercedes. |

My Bumper Book of Civil Defence vehicles gives NYV640 as a General Purpose truck. In service based at Normanton, West Riding. Sold off in Nov 1988 from Branston storage. Looks like it still has original body and canvas . -- Last edit: 2023-09-15 15:21:27 |
