Looks like a 74 Clubman would. Or a 72 Clubman. Has Italian side indicators. Could a 72 get re-regd with a 74 plate?

Yes... possilble... I cannot recal such a metallic color in the early 70s on a Clubman. What do you think dsl ?

Also on the ACI app it returns 26/09/1974 as first registration date and chassis number: XAD2488013
If I understand correctly, according to: Link to "www.minimania.com" it should be:
X = non significant
A = it lists all engines
D = 2-door saloon (Mk3 Cooper S and 1275GT only)
2 = Clubman
4 = not sure
88013 = serial
Or should I have used the post-1974MY decoding tips?

Anyway, my only source for this period is a November 1973 Quattroruote and price lists indicates that the 1300 GT was sold here.
Also, interestingly this car was de-registered (scrapped or exported) on 30/11/2005 :wow:

No thing I can add to previous info. I've never seen any reference to 1275 GT being sold in I. The only European production site for Clubman fronts was Longbridge - Seneffe or Authi never did them. Nov 73 1300 GT listing almost certainly means ADO16 - which was sold in I

electra225 wrote It was imported by late 1971 when the Italian built Innocenti I5 was dropped. The Austin 1300 GT was imported together with the Morris 1300 Traveller until November 1974.

... but 1300 GT had stopped production March 74, so only stragglers by that stage.

Yes, sorry, when I read the price list for some reason I thought 1300 GT meant Clubman 1275 GT, I didn't think about the ADO16 :whistle:

I don't think the quoted chassis number - XAD2488013 - is totally accurate. Using this chassis decoder I get this:

[Image: italianclubmanchassisdecode.jpg]

which has errors - it's not an 848cc Mini, but 998cc. The 4also doesn't work or is not recognised. And the D doesn't fit as it's not a 1275cc version, which in early 70s was not sold in I (the Cooper stopped early 71, 1275 GT never sold in Italy). From a different source 88013 is very early 73 build date within general Mini sequence.

So it's not a reliable number as it stands. But early 73 could match one of the small number of plain 998cc Clubman saloons briefly sold in I in around 72. possibly spilling into early 73. Your 74 ACI plate date is also suspicious unless it sat around unregistered and gathering showroom dust for over a year.

Maybe there was a typo in the chassis code? :think:
Anyway usually the ACI app gives first registration for re-registered vehicles (proven many times), but I can't guarantee for all plates, especially ones so old. I'm thinking about a late registration or maybe an import :think:
