This is a 1975 (only) Volvo 244 L or DL https://www.classiccarcatalogue.com/VOLVO_1975.html . It's very difficult to say if it's a L or a DL as the main difference (apart from some in the interior) was the engine. The L had the old pushrod B20 engine while the DL had the newly developed OHC B21. Apparently Fiat helped Volvo with the alloys for the aluminium head. |

This is without doubt a 1975 Volvo 244. This orange paint (colour code 113) was very common during MY 1975 but not 1976 onwards. As the 240-series was introduced as MY 1975, that means it has to be a MY 1975 only. During MY 1975 there was an option of three models; L (= Luxe), DL (= De Luxe) and GL (= Grand Luxe). GL can be ruled out as those had metallic paint, alloys (usually, but some had chromed wheel embellishers instead), a GL grill badge and different upholstery. It is impossible to say if this is a L or a DL of one cannot have a closer look on the upholstery, the interior, the badges or the engine, but DL sold in greater numbers. -- Last edit: 2023-06-27 22:30:32 |
