Could be Penman of Dumfries. In a galaxy far away I used to work for Amey , they were then purely a construction firm and we had a happy time building motorways and runways etc throughout the UK. Then they discovered PFI and Facilities Management and got into all sorts of weird and wonderful stuff, dropping construction altogether in the early noughties Their basic philosophy was they could run anything better than the government national or local. Not always the case , but governments of all colours were so keen to privatise a lot of services they were making these contracts very lucrative. -- Last edit: 2023-05-06 17:07:13 |

“Not always the case , but governments of all colours were so keen to privatise a lot of services they were making these contracts very lucrative. ” quote jcb. Tell me about it! Unfortunately to the detriment of many of us who used to make actual stuff. |
