Not a good picture, but possibly a Zephyr as the Consul had (slightly) slanted rear lights. |

I think a Consul. Both Zodiacs had probably got more chrome at the rear |

@electra225: The 1951-56 (February) Mark I was indeed called 'Zephyr Six' and 'Zephyr Zodiac', but the (March) 1956-62 Mark II models was called only Zephyr and Zodiac. About the Mark II models: - The early Consul had slanted rear lights Link to "static.wikia.nocookie.net" while the later had entirely different ones Link to "treasuredcars.com" . The early Consuls had a short but stright side strip, the later had a longer one. - The early Zephyr had stright rear lights Link to "www.flickr.com" and the later had chrome beneath Link to "upload.wikimedia.org" . The early Zephyr had a bend on the chrome strip which made it easy to do additional paint job like the above example, the late Zephyr had a stright strip that had a pointed end. - The Zodiacs had much more chrome on the rear. The early ones had round reflexes Link to "upload.wikimedia.org" while the late had oblong reflexes Link to "upload.wikimedia.org" . The Zodiac had a stright strip that went all the way to the rear lights. I'd be surprised if the above picture is anything else than a 1956-58 Zephyr. -- Last edit: 2023-01-20 18:38:05 |
