MY 1955, and indeed all EOTA and EOTTA's from October 1953 had a chromed side strip along the whole side. Earlier Consul's had no side strip at all. It has the 1952+ facia (from October 1951). Because of that I believe the hood/bonnet ornament is optional extra and thus the car of MY 1952-1953. -- Last edit: 2022-11-15 12:17:24 |

This car has the 1954+ taillights. Side-trim can easily be removed, especially as it's in a junkyard. This page is under construction and I will complete it and add thumbs later in the afternoon, kindly avoid commenting on the entries in the meantime. |

I agree that it does have the Oct 1953+ (That is MY 1954+) taillights. However, those are very easily replaceble as it is mounted with only two screws. And both arengements uses the same screws and holes. Spare parts illustration: Link to "www.classicfordspares.co.uk" If the side strips have been removed it should have left a series of holes where it was mounted. If not, the holes has been neatly welded, and painted in such a way it hasn't left any differences in nuance. That is impressive in a junk yard! |

Having looked at the scene again in fullscreen, it does appear to have some small holes where the trim is supposed to be (although it's hard to make out here). Here's a good reference shot that I found. Looking that the picture in the thumb, it also appears to have trim remaining on the rear fender. |

When looking carefully at the thumb, I can indeed see some holes. I'm safisfied with that. |
