We've identified this vehicle using the details you provided VOLKSWAGEN T-ROC UNITED TSI 2021 Registration number: AW 3131 Body type: 5 Door Hatchback Colour: Blue Date of first registration: April 2021 Very early Shropshire plate, originally issued 1903 to possibly 1921. This looks a bit newer than 1921. |

Can't see if the roof extends over the cabin. Apparently a former horse-drawn hearse, now on motorized chassis. Happened a lot, wasn't exactly the center of intense documentation most of the time. |

Enlarged and cropped. Although some details are different it perhaps shares a lot of the same design as this. Austin hearse built by John Marston's Carriage Works No 13191. Photo credit: Thomas A. McPherson Collection. Link to "i.pinimg.com" -- Last edit: 2022-09-11 16:55:53 |

Ah, thanks! The shape of the roof supports my theory of an upgraded horse-drawn. May still be a Marston (or Startin or Woodall Nicholson or the unknown coachbuilder), but it is lacking their (more or less) signature bow below the sideglass. |

I’m not quite sure where we are here. If we are going with the picture of the hearse built by John Marston, then possibly the chassis is an Austin 20/4, based upon the size, it looks too big to be a Twelve, and there is no “Six” on the grille, probably eliminating the 16/6 and the 20/6. How we extrapolate this into the subject picture I don’t know. |
