I would say that it is the 3rd one (Typ 1HXO, like the Golf 3). The 4th one (Typ 1J, like the Golf 4) is the one called Bora in Europe. |

Jetta MK3 (the car above) was Vento in Europe |

Calif. smog check site returns 4EBH999 as a 1999 Volkswagen Jetta, so it must be one of the very last ones before the release of the Jetta/Bora. -- Last edit: 2015-01-05 18:03:51 |

It can't be a 1999 model, as the A4 Jetta came out for that modelyear and the smogtest-site uses modelyears. |

Wikipedia claims production of the 1H ended in February 1999. |

nada.com listes two separate Jettas for '99. The 3rd gen and the New Jetta(4th gen). -- Last edit: 2015-01-06 04:53:56 |

Confirm the old Jetta reached the '99 MY. This one has 10th digit X so it's a 99: https://abetter.bid/en/36926268-1999-volkswagen-jetta_wolf Looks like the first half of '99s were 1Hs and the second half A4s. A4 commenced production September 98, but I found a 1H built 1 month later! (3VWPA81H3XM251758) |

Rear spoiler so probably a Wolfsburg Edition. Can we get the VIN of this one? |

Negative. I tried 2 different sources (orto and faxvin). |
