Clearly Mitsubishi Montero (Pajero) front and overall design, not the Hyundai (Galloper in E) version, which obviously looks different, but the Mitsu version is still marketed as Galloper in Spain ![]() |

A bit strange, but it was sold as an Galloper Super Exceed from 1999 to 2005 in Spain. Built there also. Here an example: Link to "www.coches.net" -- Last edit: 2022-03-13 15:28:53 |

I think thats a widebody? So LX trim level. And yes i think these were imported from japan, not produced locally. |

From South Korea you mean? All the others were listed as such |

The other ones were what the rest of the world got it as either Mitsubishi or Hyundai Galloper though - South Korean developement of the original 1980s Pajero. So it makes sense it was built in South Korea. This one is based on the newer, 1991+ second gen Pajero which was sold as Galloper only in Spain, and was never produced by Hyundai in South Korea. It doesnt make sense to put it as built in South Korea, because the next question would be - by whom? |

I will remove Made in South Korea from these. I'm assuming the Santamo was, however, made by Hyundai in Korea? Wiki, as far as we can trust it, claims no Korean production but does refer to Spanish production for this generation of Mitsubishi 4x4. VINs seem to be Japanese ones. |

Doesn't help that Spain received both the Hyundai development of the first generation car and the Galloper badged version of the second generation car. Hyundai built first generation based Gallopers: /vehicle_66474-Galloper-Super-Exceed-1998.html /vehicle_100952-Galloper-Super-Exceed-1998.html /vehicle_158415-Galloper-Super-Exceed-1998.html /vehicle_58444-Galloper-Super-Exceed-JK-01-1999.html Plus all of these: /vehicles.php?make=Galloper&model=Exceed&modelMatch=1&modelInclModel=on This one I'm not sure of: /vehicle_173179-Galloper-Super-Exceed-1998.html (will need the better screen). This page and the ones listed after 2000 are second generation cars. -- Last edit: 2026-04-28 13:42:41 |

I reckon thats a korean one - based on the shape of mirrors. |

I'd say so.yes, as the car features the Hyundai Precision logo (somewhat different H) on the grille. |

Thanks. I've done more searches as I was hoping to find a way of differentiating the Hyundai sourced and Mitsubishi sourced Exceeds and it seems that in Spain the "Super Exceed" name was only for these second generation cars. "Super Exceed" brochure: "Exceed" brochure: This is another confusing area as other markets such as Norway seemed to get "Super Exceed" badged (Hyundai) Gallopers. |

Interesting. I wasnt sure myself. Perhaps thats where the confusion came from, its not like these cars are interesting to a lot of people so a lot of things arent well documented. |
