Bear with me on this. The mini pic looks to be a circa 1955 Pontiac. The close up shot looks to be an older Pontiac disguised to be a 1955. Notice the two sets of tape stripes and some kind of covering up the middle of the hood. Think about it. Comments?? Honest, I'm only drinking coffee. |

You convinced me Dave, close up pic could be a 1953 Pontiac (1st year w/o a split windshield) that had the center chrome trim on the hood that, like you said, was covered up. comments? -- Last edit: 2008-02-23 04:11:20 |

The center chrome strips look to have been taped over. There was probably refection problems a large hot spot close to the camera would be distracting. |

This car is a 49-52 Pontiac. The hood is not correct for 53-54, the trim around the lower part of the windshield is also incorrect for 53/54 as those had a groove in them. Also it has a small back glass which was not available on the 53-54 Pontiac. The windshield has been changed to a 1 piece. It's probably the 49 Pontiac used earlier in the movie. If you look closely you can see the 49-52 speedometer cluster hump in the area of the drivers left hand (this area would be flat on a 53-54). This car is disguised to look like a 55-56 Pontiac. Also the "extra" picture posted by Wampa-One is not the same car. -- Last edit: 2019-04-03 16:58:48 |
