Why we don't have the Euro-version here in the States is beyond my understanding. I can't imagine it would take that much to make it meet US safety and emission requirements. As a matter of fact, we should have the Mondeo over here ae well. Maybe Ford's US market share would improve? |

I wonder too. They made it once, with the first Focus, they saw that it worked well (I guess), but they made a new ugly one for US for 2008 (which can now be considered as really US car I guess) instead of taking the European one which looks quite good I think. |

I've read that European cars are simply too expensive for the US market. IIRC, Ford had to reduce the manufacturing cost of the first-generation Focus by something like three to five hundred dollars per car to make it commercially viable in the US, so a lot of its refinements had to go. |

who doesn't? the european one got a nice catchy-sporty style the US focus...has nothing but a weird-ugly style. |
