However normally it has mesh (early, pre-Dunkirk) or slots used in place of formed louvres, so bonnet sides look dodgy here.

There were no OY ammbulances AFAIK, a few M-types similar to the Austin K2/Y but none in preservation. Only a 3-tonner or other OY variant.
